• 1:00–1:30 Meeting begins in the Staff Lounge of the Detroit Public Library with Welcome and Trivia Quiz based upon the day’s topics. Quizmaster: Peter Hoyos.

• 1:30–2:30 Behind the Mask – the 1969 Detroit Tigers (Peter Hoyos) and feedback and discussion of the new chapter newsletter, The Catcher’s Mitt (Brandon Robetoy)

• 2:30–2:45 BREAK (15 minutes)

• 2:45–3:15 A Brief History of Negro League Baseball Cards (Gary Gillette)

• 3:15–3:45 Tribute to the late Lenny Green, Detroit native, Pershing High School star, and former Red Sox/Twins/Tigers outfielder

• 3:45–4:00 BREAK (15 minutes)

• 4:00–4:30 Thoughts regarding Jackie Robinson’s 100th birthday (Gillette)

• 4:30–5:15 Mike Betzold, Detroit author and co-founder of the Tiger Stadium Fan Club, will speak about his recent book “Tiger Stadium: Essays and Memories of Detroit’s Historic Ballpark, 1912-2009”. Mike will have books for sale and will sign copies of his book afterward.

• 5:15–5:45 Hamtramck Stadium Update, including plans for the Centennial of the Detroit Stars First Game on April 20, 1919 (Gillette)

Free parking might be available in the employee lot on south side of library, off Putnam Street between Cass & Woodward. If the gate to the employee lot is down, use Wayne State parking ramp directly across Putnam Street. There is also metered street parking on all four sides of the library.
